How far in
advance can I book the Cavatina Quartet?
You can book
the Cavatina Quartet as far in advance as you like. We currently have bookings
well into next year, and consider all bookings however far away. In contrast, do not hesitate to contact us
regarding a performance at short notice.
How much does
it cost to hire the Cavatina Quartet?
Please
contact the manager with the playing times you have in mind and an appropriate
fee can be negotiated.
Where is the
Cavatina Quartet based?
We are
based in Shrewsbury, but have performed around Shropshire and the Midlands
region.
I'm not sure
what sort of music I want - can you suggest some?
Yes - the
Repertoire page holds a short list of traditional, modern, and contemporary
pieces that are suitable for a wide range of events. During a wedding, there is music to suit the bridal procession,
the signing of the register, walking down the aisle and the reception (see
below). Also, if you would
like some specific music it may be in our repertoire, or if not we will either
be able to get the music if possible or arrange it for you.
What dress
codes are available?
The Cavatina
Quartet are available to perform in formal Black Tie, or a more casual all
black outfit that can be seen in the photo on the Homepage. This choice is
entirely up to the client.
Is the quartet
available for Corporate Services?
The elegant
and highly professional sound of the Cavatina Quartet sets an ideal atmosphere
for business meetings and other corporate events. In the past, we have played
at the opening of the new wing at the Windsor Life Centre in Telford, alongside
Joan Collins. The Cavatina Quartet keeps a wide variety of music on hand to
suit your company's needs.
How long should
the quartet play at a wedding?
Music
generally begins as people start to arrive-approximately 20-30 minutes before
the ceremony. You may also want the
quartet to play as people leave.
Depending on how you decide to dismiss people from their seats and how
many guests you have, this could take anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Our standard wedding includes 30 minutes of
prelude music, a 30-45 minute ceremony, then 15 minutes of postlude music and
one and half hours of music during the reception/wedding breakfast.
How can I
incorporate the quartet into my wedding ceremony?
There are
several traditional moments during the course of the wedding ceremony that can
include music: 1) Prelude (as guests
enter), 2) Seating of the mothers, 3) Bridesmaids’ Procession, 4) Bridal Procession, 5) Communion, 6) Special Prayer, 7)
Recession, 8) Postlude (as guests
leave). You may also have your own unique
moments during the ceremony for which you would like us to play. You may have music during all or just some
of these parts of the wedding. Musical
selections can either be taken by you or left to us to decide appropriate music
from our experience.
